STAFF DANCE
WAIKERIA BORSTAL The staff of the Waikeria Borstal Institute held its first dance for several years at the institute on Monday night. The arrangements wore in the hands of a very capable committee, and a large gathering from To. Awamutu and the surrounding districts thoroughly enjoyed the music supplied by the institute's orchestra, also two songs contributed by Miss C. Dunlop, (lie (laughter of Mr. D. Dunlop, the superintendent. The hall was attractively decorated with coloured streamers, balloons and Chinese lanterns, while continually changing lights silhouetted the dancers. The ladies' committee comprised Mes(l ames Dunlop, I'ae, Barbara, Rooncj and Bennev. Supper was served in a separate hall, which was also decora ted with flowers, shrubs and ferns grown by the institute. The function was a very successful one and it is to be hoped it will bo the forerunner of several dances just as enjoyable. Mrs. D. Dunlop, who wore a frock of black angelskin lace, received the guests. Among the dancers present were: Mrs. R. Noonan, who wore black satin beau to; Mrs. W. Locke, black lace; Mrs. G. B. Glanville, black taffetas; Mrs. Bouncy, black lace and georgette; Mrs. Steer, Marina blue velvet; Mrs. E. Kirk, black georgette; Mrs. Cahill, pink satin; Mrs. W. Old, black velvet; Mrs. J. Regan, black skirt with silver lame tunic; -Mrs. J. Fleming, flame georgette; Mrs. 11.I 1 . Waters, tomato velvet; Mrs. M. Dean, blue velvet; Mrs. Roonov, floral georgette; Mrs. Kidd, black georgette and lace; .Mrs. O'Reilly, whito satin; Mrs. C.
