POLICE TRANSFER

FAREWELL GATHERING Police officers from tho Newmarket and suburban stations gathered at Newmarket station last night to bid farewell to Sergeant ,J. W. Claasen, on tho eve of his departure on transfer to Kaitaia. Constable G. Bushton, of Bemuera, on behalf of the Newmarket staff and suburban stations, presented Sergeant Claasen with a clock, and Detective It. Waterson, 011 behalf of officers whom Sergeant ClaUsen had coached for examinations, presented him with a fountain pen, suitably inscribed. Sergeant Claasen briefly replied.
