COUNTY PALATINE

The County Palatine Association (Lancashire), . held an enjoyable social evening on Tuesday in tho rooms of tho New Women's Club. Customs Street East. A musical programme was presented by Mrs. Gordon Nicholson, Miss E. Jones, Miss J. Lambert, Mr. E. Newling and Mr. Jackson. Tho vocal items and pianoforte solos were much appreciated, as were tlio elocutionary numbers given by Mr. J. Andrew and Mr. F. Cor bridge. The accompanists were Mrs. McCarthy and Mrs. Jones Miss Lambert was the solo pianist. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Goddison were the hostesses.

The president, Mr. W. J. Dodd, contributed a Lancashire dialect reading and afterwards announced that negotiations were proceeding for another club room. The membership roll showed a further substantial increase. ,
