JHE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE MARKET AGAIN ACTIVE ■ The improved tone on :he Auckland gtork Exchange was maintained yesterday, when bidding was. brisk and a fairly large number of transactions were made. Government loans ryid local body debentures sold well. The banking section was steady. New Zealands again selling at .'{9s 3d. An odd lot. of Commercials of Australia changed hands unaltered at 13s 3d. Insurances dull. In a transfer at SSs Farmers' Auctioneering (£5 paid) declined 6d, while Loan and .Mercantile were dealt in at late rates. New Zealand Breweries were weaker, a sale at 51s showing a fall of Is 3d. Auckland Gas changed hands twice nt 235. Among the miscellaneous group Colonial Sugars opened strongly with business 7s fid higher at £43 10s. This level was not'maintained and a further sale was put through at £l3 ss, at which more were wanted. Woolworths (N.Z.) moved up 5s to £5 8s 6d and closed firm. Selling actively ex rights Dunlop-Perdriaus at 17s lost Is 6d compared with the previous cum rights transfer. Levels for British Tobaccos Trere lifted 6d in dealing at 43s 9d. Farmers' Trading again had business at the improved price of IDs. where more were available. Broken H lis had a current level transaction at "7s Gd.
