LORD MAYOR'S SHOW

NOVEMBER F'AGEANT DEFENCE A FEATURE (Received October 7, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Oct. 6 The central feature of this year's Lord Mayor's Show, to be held on November 9, will be a oageant entitled: 'City of London and Defence of the Jiealm." The historical association with the City of famous regiments will be recalled. The earliest detachment of City troops represented will he gunners, archers, pikemen and billinen in the white uniforms of 15915. Members of'the Honourable Artillery Company will appear as trained bands and auxiliaries of 164,'J and the meh of the Grenadier Guards in the uniforms of 1664. The/ Foot Gt ards and defence forces of later periods in history will be represented by other regiments closely associated with London.

Finally tableaux' will show London troops in trench warfare on the western front in 1915, at Gallipoli in 1916, at Passchendaele in 1917 and tho last advance in 1918.
