ATTACKED BY SOW
PARMER'S STRENUOUS FIGHT ARMS AND HANDS INJURED [by telegraph OWN' correspondent] PALMERSTON T NORTH, Wednesday Attacked suddenly by a sow, -Mr. W. H. H. Foster, farmer, of Rongotea, suffered severe injuries to his hands and arms. He was in an empty sty close to one in which was a sow and litter about a week old. Unexpectedly the sow entered the sty in which he was standing and attacked him. Mr. Foster was knocked over and had to fight off the beast single-handed. This he managed "to do, but only after having one thumb broken and both arms and hands injured. After bandaging thu wounds roughly himself, he managed to drive his car into Rongotea, and from there he was taken to Bulls for medical attention.
