PREVENTION OF CRUELTY

The monthly meeting of the ladies' committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held at tho society's rooms last evening. Mrs. Spencer • Alason presiding over a large attendance. A report on the success of the spring fair was received and a vote of appreciation of tho financial and social success of the function was passed to the convener, Airs. Alason. A welcome was extended to two new ™ er !l" hers, Airs. E. O'Connor and Mrs. ». J. Denniston. . Alembers present were: Mrs. Brown-low-Burke, Mrs. B. J. Marquet, Mrs. A G. Frankhaui, Airs. AlcKenzio Airs. E L. Burton, Airs. Francis, Airs. Scott Airs. Knowles, Mrs. Bushell, Mrs. Barry, Mrs. Goodman, Miss Motzgor, and Miss Lane.
