ACTIVITIES OF BOARD [bt telegraph—OWN CORRESPONDENT] TAURANGA, Wednfsday The Tauranga Harbour Board appointed the chairman, Mr. A. J. rielees, and the secretary, Mr. C. Lowe, as representatives on the Bay of Plenty committee which was recently set up in connection with the Auckland provincial centennial celebrations. The harbourmaster, Mr. T. A. Dickson, reported that the flashing light on the North Rock had been overhauled and reinstalled. Details were given in regard to the improvement of the town wharf, a portion of which is to be put in order anu leased to the Borough Council. It was expected that this work would be completed by the latter part of December. Mr. Dickson stated that he expected to have Omokoroa wharf reconditioned and ready for use by the coming holiday season. The Borough Council advised that it was arranging various committees to study and promote its town-planning scheme, and requested the assistance of the chairman of the Harbour Board, Mr. Mirrielees, on a committee, lh o board agreed to the council's request. Agreement was also given to the leasing of two sites fronting Dive Crescent, opposite the railway wharf, tor business premises.
