REARMING APPROVED LONDON, Oct. 1 The Bishop of Winchester, Dr. C. F. Garbett, in his presidential address to tho Winchester Diocesan Conference, strongly supported the Government's rearmament policy. "The ramparts we hoped we had erected against war," said Dr. Garbett, "are too weak, and the menace of armed nations and the failure of the League of Nations have raised the question whether a Christian can approve of his nation resorting to war, We may have to choose in the near future between war or the loss of our freedom.
"We are witnessing an attempt to crush all forms of individual freedom. One by one nations have accepted or have had imposed upon them forms of government based upon the denial of individual liberty.
