MOTORIST IMPRISONED

DRUNK IN CHARGE OF CAR [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] CARTERTON, Saturday A fine of £2O, in default one month's imprisonment, was imposed upon Samuel Sturgess, aged 46, chimney sweep, in the Magistrate's Court this morning for being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle, and his licence was cancelled for two years. A prohibition order was also issued for 12 months. On a further charge of damaging cell utensils, he was fined 17s. Sturgess, who could not pay the fine, was sent to prison.
