FARM MANAGEMENT

CAPACITY OF MAN AND BOY [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday Exception to such statements as that reported to have been made by Mr. J. Thorn, M.P., that a man and a boy could efficiently manage a herd of from 50 to 00 cows and do the ordinary farm work, was taken at a meeting of the Waikato executive of the Farmers' Union on Friday. A letter was received from the Te Awamutu branch drawing attention to the statement and expressing disagreement with it. It was stated that, while a man and boy could possibly milk the number of cows mentioned, the work could not be done efficiently and that other farm work would suffer if it were attempted.
