Ji> effect, the hall will be almost completely rebuilt, and there will be a frontage of three storeys. The work of alteration is to commence shortly. The plans provide for modern display windows in Symonds Street. There will be 45,000 square feet of floor space, and the premises will be among the largest devoted to retail furnishing in tho Dominion. Tho firm will move from its present premises on the completion of tho alteiations. Scots Hall was built 12 years ago hv the late Mr. J. M. Mennie, who died shortly afterward. It was originally intended that it should be used by the St. Andrew's Society, but it became a public hall, and has been used for all kinds of entertainment, for flower shows and for meetings. In view of its association with the hall, the St. Andrew's Society will have tho last use of it to-night, when the society will hold a function.
