FIRE ON AIR LINER
£30,000 DAMAGE DONE AUSTRALIAN MAILS INVOLVED (Received October 2, .">.35 p.m.) BOMBAY, Oct. 1 It was stated in the course of an inquiry, which was held in camera, that the lire on the air liner Athena caused damage to the machine and its contents amounting to £30,000. The Athena, carrying mails loaded for Australia from London on September 23, caught tire when taking off from Delhi on September 20. The passeijgers and crew escaped injury, but the machine was completely destroyed.
