Praise for Dominion Actress

MISS GEORGIA STERLING IN "RANGLE RIVER"

An interesting account of the progress being made with the production of Columbia's "Bangle River" in Sydney, is provided by the New Zealand manager of Columbia Pictures Proprietary, Limited, Mr. B. Vinsen, %vho has just returned from Australia. The picture, which is being made at National Studios, Pagewood, is tho first to be made by qn American company in Australia or New Zealand. Mr. Vinsen has much praise for the ability sof Miss Georgia Sterling, a daughter of Mr. H. H. Sterling, formerly general manager of railways in New Zealand. This actress was selected from several hundreds of pretty and talented girls to play a prominent part in the picture. What impressed Mr. Vinsen about Miss Sterling was her confidence and her perfect diction. Her screen debut in "Rangle River" is to be brought to the attention "of Hollywood producers and casting executives, and every chance for a Hollywood contract will be given this clever Auckland actress. A young man who is very popular at the studio and who acts as "shadow" for Victor Jor.v, the star, is Hori Thomas. He hails from Pahiatua and

was educated at Canterbury University College. During the intervals between actual recording he rehearses with cameras, lights and microphone for the desired effects, thus enabling Victor Jory to rest as much as possible between "shots." On the technical side of the production side is Frank McKechniOj of Dunedin. He is a capable cameraman, with experience in the United States. "Rangle River" will be released in New Zealand theatres about Christmas time.
