Distressing circumstances aro connected with the recent death of Mr. 'John lfnssel! Makinson, Jiotcl proprietor, of Ripley, Surrey, which was brought about by a bullet that entered his heart <1 tiring the Great War. Some weeks ago, Mr. Makinson sailed on a Mediterranean cruise with his wife to show her the place where, in tlio landing at Gallipoli, lie was shot. The bullet had never been extracted and remained embedded in his body. He carried out his wish to show his wife the old war areas, and then the bullet moved, and Mr. Makinson died. Ihe vessel returned to Southampton last month with Mr. Makinson's body aboard.
