FIRE AT OTOROHANGA
BRIGADE'S PROMPT ACTION [BY TELEGKAI'II —OWN COBKESPONDENT] OTOKOIIANGA, Friday Owing to the prompt action of tho Otorohanga firo brigade, a firo in a two-roomed cottage in tho Otorohanga Timber Company's yards which broke out at about 11.30 a.m. yesterday was quickly extinguished. The cottage, however, was gutted, and tho contents destroyed. A large quantity of timber which'was lying in the yard was saved. An elderly man, Mr. J. Armstrong, who was occupying the cottage, had been using benzine to clean his clothes and tho benzine had taken lire. Mr. Armstrong's hands were badly burned.
