AIR RAID PROTECTION

DISTRIBUTION OF MANUAL PRIVATE SHELTER ADVOCATED LONDON. Sept. 30 The Government is sending out to every householder a book' on the dangers of air raids and gas attacks. It is suggested that all should provide their own refuge in their own homes, factories and shops. An official stated to-day that public shelters were only for those caught in the streets. The Government had no intention of providing public bombproof shelters. These would require concrete roofs 10ft. thick, or alternatively would need to be built 75ft. underground.
