OTAHUHU FUNCTION
RETURNED SOLDIERS' SOCIAL National flags predominated in the decorations adopted by the Otahnhu and District Returned Soldiers' Association on the occasion of its annual social evening held in the Otahnhu Public Hall on Tuesday. The Masonic Hall was utilised for card tournaments, bridge and five hundred being enjoyed by a large company, under the direction of Mr. A. T. McLaren and Mr. B. V. Closey. The winners were:—Bridge, ladies, Mrs. Jackson, 1, Miss L. MeGce, 2; men, Mr. T. W. Day, 1, Mr. J. Gardiner, 2; hidden number, Mrs. M. J. Barrett; five hundred, ladies, Mrs. T. .Judo, 1, Mrs. Jepson, 2; men, Mr. J. F. Gardiner, 1, Mr. O. .McSweenev, 2; consolation, Mrs. B. Statham. The committee controlling the arrangements included: Messrs. B. V. Closey, H. C. Littler, H. Hayr, It. McConnoehie, T. W. Day, W. Lovett, H. Lovell, J. Havill and W. Cowper.
A dance was enjoyed in the public hall, those present including: —Mesdames 11. W. F. Wood, W. W. Massev, P. Wheeler, B. McConnocliie, L. J. Buckley, J. MeCrory, .1. Steele, H. Jeffries, F.
