MOUNT MAUNGANUI CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, 'Thursday There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Mount Mau•nganui Surf and Lifesaving Club. The president, Mr. C. J. West, said that the past year's activities had been eminently successful, socially, financially and in general surf club work. He congratulated the team responsible for such fine work in patrolling the beach. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit balance of £o-i. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. C. H. Burnett, M.P.; president, Mr. T. Dobson; hon. secretary, Mr. D. Bain; committee, Messrs. E. Clarke, Sutherland, C. J. West; hon. treasurer, > Mr. H. E. Philip; club captain. Mr. T. Magee; hon. phvsician, Dr. J. B. MacDiarmid. It was decided that tho Australian team, which intended touring New Zealand, should be invited to visit Mount Maunganui.
