NICHOL BEATS DE GANS BOUT AT PALMERSTON NORTH [BY TELEGRAM —PRESS ASSOCIATION] PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday Claude Nichol, of Australia, just on half a stone heavier, beat Roy do Gans, of America, on points in a 15-round boxing contest at Palmerston North to-night. There wag overmuch in-fighting for the spectators, but it was an interesting duel between a heavy puncher and a clever boxer.
