£36,000,000 FORTUNE

ELLERMAN ESTATE RESWORN HUGE SUM FOR TREASURY LONDON. Sept. 30 The estate of Sir John Ellerman, the shipping magnate, who died in 1933, which was originally valued at £17,224,425, has now been rasworn at £36,684,994, exclusive of property abroad. Tho Exchequer will receive £18,342,397 in estate duty. It is computed that during his lifetime, Sir John Ellerman paid income tax and super tax of between £17,000,000 and £20,000,000. Sir John Ellerman's estate is by far the largest to have been left in Britain in recent times. The nearest approach to it in size was that of Sir David Yule, tho shipbuilder, who left £20,000,000. Mr. Charles Morrison and Lord lveagh both left fortunes amounting to approximately £11,000,000.

The estate, therefore, may finally be proved for a value in excess of £+37,000,000.
