Mrs. Arthur Skinner was hostess at a farewell party, tho guests of honour being Mr. and Mrs. Keano, who will leave Tauranga shortly for tho far north. During the evening the Mayor, Mr. L. Wilkinson, presented Mr. and Mrs. Keane each with a leather suitcase. Speeches were also made by tho Hon. C. E. Macmillan and Mr. Skinner. Mrs. Keano wore a black lace frock with a velvet coatee, and tho hostess was in black georgette and lace. Other ladies present included:—Mrs. L. It. Wilkinson, Mrs. C. E. Macmillan, Mrs. W. Davis, Mrs. liennio, Mrs. M. Munro, Mrs. It. Morpeth, Mrs. Gavin, Mrs. Adams, Mrs. H. Clarko, Miss M. Ollord, Miss Fox, Miss Garvey, Miss Sanderson, Miss Patience, Miss Smedley, Miss Harrison, Miss C. Parkinson. Mrs. Burnett and Miss Jean Burnett, of Fifth Avenue, havo left on a holiday visit to Wanganui. Miss Belle Turner, Edgecumbe Road, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. Garvey, of Auckland, who has been spending several weeks in Tauranga, has left for Gisborne. Mrs. J. Sharpe, of Katikati, is staying with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Sharpe, Durham Street. Mrs. J. Mclntyre, of Monmouth Street, has returned from a brief visit to Auckland.
Miss Both Gibson, of Fourth Avenue, has returned from a holiday visit to* Auckland.
The vocal and pianoforte recital giwn by Mr. Michael Head, and arranged by members of the Tauranga Music Teachers' Association and Medlians' Music Club, provided a feast of music. Large brass bowls of golden japonica and Iceland poppies were arranged on the stage, where supper waij later served. Among the audience were: —Mrs. Whitlock, Mrs. Siuldard Foster, Mrs. M. Clarke, Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Smedley, Mrs. F. Wilson, Mrs. A. lies, Mrs. Newsliam, Mrs. Castles, Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. McShane, Mrs, Denis Turner, Mrs. H. Stevens, Miss Gavoy, -Miss L.
