WAIKATO LYCEUM CLUB
ANTIQUE EXHIBITION The "Get Together" circle of the Waikato Lyceum Club organised a most interesting exhibition of old-world frocks, lace, silk shawls and bridal veils of many years ago. Of particular interest was a hand-worked bridal veil in Brussels design, which is 125 years old. There was a unique collection of silver and rare china in addition to old brass and pictures. During the afternoon and evening many antique lovers attended. Those responsible for the various sections were: —Jewellery and miniatures, Mrs. N. Blomfield; china, Mrs. F. W. Pinfold; furniture, Mrs. G. Hovey; pictures, Mrs. A. R. Clark; frocks and lace, Mr. T. Piatt, Mrs. G. Hamilton, Mrs. H. E. Annett; silver and glass, Mrs. P. Newland and Mrs. J. D. Smith. The president, Mrs. Hugh Douglas, wearing an old-world frock of _ black taffetas, with full pleated skirt, a Brussels lace fichu and small lace enp, received tho guests. A parade of oldfashioned frocks was held. Those taking part included Mrs. A. R. Brown, Mrs. F. D. Pinfold, Miss E. Eggleston.
