THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE QUIET. CONDITIONS RULE Conditions were particularly qukt on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and only a small volume of business was transacted. Government loans ' were firmly held, There was a dull tone in banks.* Offers for Commercials of Australia declined 3d during the day., closing at 18s. In the insurance group Nationals were dealt in Id higher at 18s 9d, with more wanted. Loan and Mercantiles changed hands twice nt the recent improved rate of Buyers' limits for Kauri Timbers v'ere raised oil to 24s 3d, but sellers withdrew. ■ In the miscellaneous group Australian Glass were steady at 92s 6d, at which more were available. Levels for Broken Hills were lifted 3d to 76s 3d and the demand was unsatisfied. Two parcels of Farmers' Trading were transferred at the current price of 18s SOd, while G. J. Coles maintained late rates. In the first business since July, Macky, Logans gained Is 3d to sell at 21s 3d. Tarana ki Oil fields at Is 6d were 2d higher than the price.iu June.
