PARNELL CLUB'S SEASON Reviewiug the report presented at the annual meeting of the Parnell Cricket the president, Mr. R. B. Lusk, congratulated tho senior B team on finishing runner-up in its grade. Smith; assistant honorary secretary, Mr. 0. Cleal; honorary treasurer, Mr A. Siddall; management committee. Messrs. H. Duncan, A. G. Aitken, G. McMillan, P. Whitelaw, A. K. WHANGAREI ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday A meeting of the executive of the Whangarei Cricket Association was held last evening, the president, Mr. C. H. G. Hcdditch, presiding Nominations wero received frpm five teams in the senior A grade competition, four in the senior B, and three in the junior. Then are, however, Htill several other teams to entei, and tho question of classifying the teams was left until nejrt week, when all entries wil: be to hand. The association does not intend to have byes in the senior A competition owii'g to the introduction this year of two-day matche* in this section. An offer from the United Club, Taumarunui. to visit the district during Christmas was accepted and one-day matches are to be played at Whangarei and Maungakaramea. The president reported on the progress of the movement to raise £4OOO for the construction of a community sports ground for Whangaroi, and mentioned that a carnival was to be held Mr. Hcdditch was appointed to act for the association in all matters per tabling to the community sports ground, and Messrs L G MilW and A. D. Cook were elected delegates to the carnival committee The opening day for the season was not fixed, although October 17 was mentioned as a probable date
