NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS PAYMENTS FROM THE FUND [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday It wa;i anounced at tho annual meeting of the Trentham Scholarship Fund executive that the assets of the fund; •were now only sufficient to meet tine liabilities already incurred under bursaries, and that therefore no further applications would be invited. The report stated that applications for 351 bursaries had been received during the year, compared with 456 in tlje previous year. Of these, 41 had. been declined. The sum represented by awards upas £3458 10s, and'the average award had been £l4 8s l()d. Since these awards had been made, 34 had been cancelled!, representing £312. Since the inception of the fund, £64,021 had been paid to bursars, and 3564 bursaries had been awarded, affecting 1381 children. Gu am average, each child had benefited to the extent of £46 7s 2d. The excess of income over expenditure for the year was;, £3299, and the assets now amounted to £3286.
