Primarily the new way of holiday, making 111 based on the splendid high, ways in practically all of the States. It is now possible to travel from the Atlantic to the Pacific, or from the north to the south, over paved roailg that are n delight to the motorist. The secondary roads are usually first-class in every respect, and this enables the motor-car and its adjoining vehicle to traverse either flat or mouhtainotin thoroughfares. •Tin Can" Organisation The San Francisco Chronicle of Aug. ust 16 had a story to the effect that Mr Josef Sigall, living in a £4OOO trailer, had returned to Saratoga to find that his mansion had been burned down 3 few monnhs ago. There was no way of reaching Mr. Sigall with the news, tocause his movements could not be checked. It was surprising to most people to read that one trailer could cost £40(10.

The American people are not long in finding a name for a popular innovation. The trailers may or may not l|;te the designation of "Tin Canners," bit that appellation, or one like it, will become generally iised. At Sanduskfe Ohio, the "Tin Can Tourists of tie World" recently held their summer reunion. This organisation claims a meiabership of 97,000, and it is mainly sponsible for the popularisation of t'!>e trailer.

The nomads of the road are dividtid into threu groups: Gold Coasters, being millionaires, or less, who travel in their "yacht" ;ars to Newport, Florida, California or Canada; the average tourists often retired, middle-aged couples who pay from £6O to £3OO for their traileri; and Sago Brushers. who have hom&. made rattle-traps that may cost U little as il!6 each. A Palatial Outfit ' • Mr. Guruee Munn, of New York, is credited 'vith perhaps the most palatal trailer extant It is air-conditioael, has hot and cold running water, electric lights at id fans, a telephone to tile driver, a complete kitchen, and all otfoir usual conveniences. Mr. Munn serra American delicacies to his friends in the remote fastnesses of France uA Czechoslovakia.
