CRICKET
CLUBS AT MATAMATA

A new departure was made at the annual meeting of the Matpmata, Cricket Club by the appointment of a lady secretary. For some years the club has had difficulty in obtaining tha services of a secretary with sufficient time to handle the work efficiently, nnd Mrs. .B. Cohen had offered to fill the breach. Mrs. Cohen has always been a very keen follower of the gamo. Another lady, Mrs. J, Fussoy, was elected a vice-president. Following aro the officers for the ensuing season:—Patron, Mr. J. Cranswick; president, Sir. J. Pohlen; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Landells, J. W. Simpson, J. Mclntyre, T. A. Kemp, Mrs. Fussey; secretary arid treasurer, Mrs, B. Cohen; auditor. Mr. L. 11. Little; executive. Father Silk, Messrs. M. Milos, W. H, Carlson, G. G. Griffiths. It was decided to increase the subscription to ir>s for senior and 10s for Junior members. The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Old Boys' Cricket Club:—President, Mr. J. J. Simpson; secretary, Mr. S. Downic; management committee, Messrs. Mac Simpson. S. Downie. L. Jordan; delegates to .Piako Association. Messrs. R. Beaver, H. Downie. Mac. Simpson. The subscription was fixed at 15s for senior members, 10s for Juniors and 5s for schoolboys.
