TAURANGA REGATTA

GOOD POSITION OF CLUB [by telecraph—own correspondent] TAURANGA, Monday Mr. 11. E. Olding presided at the annual meeting of the Tauranga Regatta Club. The annual report stated the last regatta had proved successful from all points of view. There was a credit balance of £l7. Officers were elected as follows: —Patron, Mr. W. S. Harris; vice-patron, Mr. C. H. Burnett, M.P.; president, Mr. H. E. Olding; vicepresidents, Messrs. C. Tonkin, K. J. Rennie, G. Norris, W. Waters, C. M. Clench, D. Cambio, \V. Jury; hon. secrotary and treasurer, Mr. J. McGlone; auditors, Mr. L. Warde; committee, Messrs. C. F. Oliver, P. F. Carter, A. Stewart, J. Denby, J. Sutton, D. V. Hanna, A. Griffiths, W. Griffiths, L. Norris, J. E. Ward, P. Simmonds, W. Padlio, T. Harvey, S. Wilson, W. G. Harrison, R. Packman, D. Hianoe, S. L. Simmons, H. E. G. Carter, L. Jury, T. F. Connor, the president, vicepresidents and secretary; executive, Messrs. D. X. ilanna, A. Stewart, J. E. Ward, G. Tonkin, and president and secretary. It was decided that the annual regatta should be held on Boxing Day. A motion was carried that the club was not in favour of charging competing oarsmen at regattas, as had been suggested by the Mercer Regatta Club.
