ROAD MANOEUVRES
GUNS AND HEAVY LORRIES Manoeuvres with the heavy transport lorries that are part of anti-aircraft gun equipment will be'carried out today by officers and men of the Royal New Zealand Artillery from Auckland and Wellington, who are at present undergoing three weeks' training at Narrow Neck camp. The purpose of the manoeiKres is to *find out how the lorries behave on rough and clay roads. The lorries are fitted with large enough wheels and are powerful enough to traverse any roads, and can also go across country. They, and two antiaircraft guns, which are also mounted on wheels, will be taken out to the back roads behind Devonport and it will be seen if they live up to their reputation. . The general plan is to occupy a piece of land that might be used in tne defence of Auckland in time of war. Seven lorries, carrying about 50 men, will be taken, and also the equipment necessary for firing the anti-aircraft guns.
