THE LABOUR GOVERNMENT

Sir, —In suggesting that I, as well as "Four Loyal Supporters" (whom, by the way, I recognise as kindred spirits) have forgotten to look at both sides of the question, presumably in reference to the Labour Government, your correspondent "Let Ls Be I'air has surelv overlooked that little parable or the "mote," for if he is sincere in his defence of their legislation, and thinks their actions fair and unselfish, apparently he himself has failed to look at both sides of tho question. In rhapsodising over the so-called "benefits derived from the guaranteed price for butter-fat (which, after _ all, _ when stripped of the accompanying rise m price of all other things, leaves the farmer where he was before), he entirelv forgets to view the situation from the point of view of all other important sections of the community, where- there is nothing to gain, but a great deal to lose by these enforced iniquitous laws and regulations. "Let Us Be Fair" needs to observe the everincreasing armies of idle men in the cities, which alone is proof that mistakes are being made. My advice to "Let Us Be Fair" is to stop dwelling on the fancied faults and shortcomings of the past Government, and concentrate seriously on the methods and practices of the present one. Amy B. Manning.
