FUTURE OF THE RACE; ; FORMATION OF FEDERATION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DANNEVIRKE, Monday Arising out of the conference Wellington last week on the question of Maori welfare, the representatives of the Arawa and Kahungunu tribes, a a meeting in Dannevirke presided over by Mr. H. T. Mitchell, of liotorua, decided to form a New Zealand Mao and Pakeha Federation, to interests of the Maori race. Ihp . meeting will be held at liotorua . October 1. European and Maori lead are to bo invited to attend to he P ' frame a constitution and to decide up? future activities in the interests or Maoris.
