DOMINION TOURNAMENT TITLE-HOLDERS DEFEATED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday In the Dominion badminton championship and handicap tournament the best game last night was that in which J. Spodding, New Plymouth, defeated the New Zealand champion, J. J. Nenle, of Wellington. It was a memorable match in which the issue was in doubt right to the end. Miss M. Kerr, of Dunedin, a girl, defeated the New Zealand women's champion, Mrs. P. Wren. Results in the New Zealand championships wero: — Men's Singles.—Second round: H. H. Fow (Hamilton) beat P. Anderson (Auckland), 15 —9, 18 —14; J. Neale (Wellington) beat I. D. Low (Wangamii), 15 —10, 15 —10; G. A. Pearce (Wellington) beat Pidvard (Wellington), 15 —10, 15 —13; E. M. Handler (Wanganui) beat H. M. Purser (Marton), 15 —8, 15 —10. Third round: J. Spedding (New Plymouth) beat Neale, 15 —6, 13—15, 15 —8; P. Hawksworth (Mastcrton) beat Handley, 15 —11, 15—11. Semi-final. —J. Spedding (New Plymouth) beat H. H. Fow (Hamilton), 12 —15, 15 —10, 15 —10. Spedding plays P. Hawksworth (Masterton) in the final.
