Spodding, New Plymouth, defeated the New Zealand champion, J. J. Nenle, of Wellington. It was a memorable match in which the issue was in doubt right to the end. Miss M. Kerr, of Dunedin, a girl, defeated the New Zealand women's champion, Mrs. P. Wren. Results in the New Zealand championships wero: — Men's Singles.—Second round: H. H. Fow (Hamilton) beat P.
