The sectional play was completed, the section being won by Auckland Central, with two wins and one draw. Thames Valley being second with two wins and one loss. THE LEAGUE CODE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP MOUNT ALBERT TO MEET MARIST The senior championship of the Auckland Rugby League will be continued at Carlaw Park to-morrow, when keen contests are anticipated. The championship is at a most interesting stage and the winning team may not be known at the conclusion of to-morrow's series, owing to postponed games the previous Saturday. The principal attraction to-morrow will be between Mount Albert and Marist. and a bright 'lame should result. Mount Albert will be keen to win in view of a possibility of its playing off for the championship with Manukau. The latter is at present leading by a point and should win against Newton to-morrow in the game on the No. 2 ground. This would necessitate the match between Mount Albert and City, providing the former beats Marist, being played. The points of the leading teams are as follows: —Manukau, 17; Richmond. HS; Devonport. lfi : Mount Albert. 1 City and Richmond will play the curtainraiser to the chief game, while Ponsonby and Devonport will meet in the early match on the No. 2 ground. Lower grade competitions will be continued. Followng are the teams: SUSPENSION OF PLAYER APPEAL DISMISSED BY COUNCIL The appeal of the Newton Club against the suspension of A. Nathan, a member of its senior team, until December, lfW7, was considered at last evening's meeting of the council of tho Now Zealand Rugby League After considering evidence from both the Auckland Rugby Laevrue and the Newton Club, the council dismissed the appeal. A letter was received from the West Coast League dealing with the application from W. J. Cutbiish for permission to play in com petition matches. Mr. C. Sncdden said that Cufbush had played in England recently and although he had been granted a clearance, the council required more information concerning tho case before arriving at a de } Cision. The matter was deferred. ASSOCIATION GAME SENIOR GRADE CONTESTS NORTH SHORE AND OLD BOYS Owing to the fact that Thistle will be in Wellington playing for the Chatham Cup, only two senior championship games will be played to-morrow under the control of tho Auckland Football Association. The main fixture at Rlandford Park will be between North Shore and Mount Albert Grammar Old Roys. A bright and open contest should result, and Mount Albert will have to show marked improvement on its recent displays if it wishes to hold its opponents to a close decision. The curtain-raiser game at Rlandford Park will be between Ponsonby and Comrades. The former should have the better prospects, but Comrades can he relied upon for a forceful showing. Hopkins, Chatham. Phillips, Heatley. Walsh. FORDHAM SHIELD TOURNEY The primary- schools' Soccer tournament for the Fordham Shield was concluded yesterday in fine weather. The final match in the series was played between Auckland West and Hamilton, the latter proving successful by 'J goals to O. Marine Suburbs, (he winner of the tournament last year, was again successful, finishing with the most number of points. The shield was presented to tile captain of the Marine Suburbs team by the chairman of the Auckland Football Association, Mr. L. Munro, who congratulated the players on their good play and sportsmanship. The points gained by the various teams are as follows:--Marine Suburbs, 1); Auckland City, 8; Hamilton, 0; Auckland East, -1; Auckland West, 3; Auckland South, 0.
