M. Fraser, at to-day s meeting of the board. Mr. <T. A. I inlavson said two of the beacons concerned had only recently boon repaired for similar damage.

Mr. P- Gardner: We seem to have beacons damaged every few months. Mr. Gardner moved that the harbourmaster should bo instructed to ascertain, wherever possible, what craft had caused the damage, and that action should be taken for the recovery of the cost of repairs. Mr. F raser said under the Act any damage to the beacons must be immediately reported to the harbourmaster and the superintendent of mercantile marine. Mr. Fraser said he had written alreadv to one man who, ho understood. had damaged one of the beacofis, but no reply had been received. Mr. Gardner's motion • was carried and it was also decided to prosecute in all cases where the requirements of the Act were not fulfilled.
