SAND-BLASTING THE BELLS Probably not one person in a hundred knows anything of the difficult and dangerous job of sand-blasting the bells. Sand-blasting is one of the last processes at a bell foundry, and consists of blowing the sand at higjh speed on to the inner surface. The operator, despite his heavy protective garb, cannot remain in the cabinet for more than half an hour, and is »erved with milk at intervals.
