OBSCENE LANGUAGE MANY TERMS IN GAOL "Every year since 1923, when he was imprisoned for nine months, this man has spent at least six months in prison, with many short sentences as well. In May of this year ho Avas released after serving three years for assault," said Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in surveying the list of convictions against Given Ganesh, an Indian hawker, aged 35, when he appeared in the Polico Court yesterday, admitting a charge of using .obscene language. Evidence was given that the offence was committed in the presence of women and children, following a disturbance in Hobson Street on Thursday afternoon. No evidence was called for the defence, the accused's counsel, Mr. Noble, saying that when the accused had drink he became "definitely mental."
A sentence of three months' imprisonment was imposed, and an order was marie for the accused to be mentally examined
