FIGHT IN STREET
TWO MAORI WOMEN FINED USED HATPIN AND SCISSORS [by telegraph OWN correspondent] KAIKOHE, Friday Charged with fighting in the main street, one using a hat-pin and the other a pair of scissors, two Maori women, Maria Joyce, and Peru Wihongi, appeared before Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., in the Kaikoha Police Court yesterday. Evidence was given by Constable D. Robertson that when he found them fighting, Joyce was bleeding from tlio hand ns flip result, of a bntpin used by Wihongi. Wihongi was bleeding from the arm, the wound being inflicted by a pair of scissors used by Joyce, who had them in her pocket. In a statement, Wihongi admitted striking Jovce.
Wihongi was fined £2 and 12s costs and Joyce £1 and 12s costs.
