HUNTLY BY-ELECTION
BOROUGH COUNCIL SEATS TWO MEMBERS RESIGN [by telegraph OWN correspondent] HUNTLY, Thursday A by-election will be held on September 7 to fill two vacant seats on the Huntly Borough Council caused by the resignation of two members. Mr. R. A. Wilcox, who has been senior assistant at the Huntly District High School for the past 73 years, tendered his resignation after having received notice of his transfer to Te Aroha, where he will take up his duties in the early part of September. Mr. G. A. Green has resigned for business reasons. At the "ordinary meeting of the Borough Council both were presented with silver cigarette cases by the Mayor, Mr. W. C. E. George, who expressed much regret that they had been compelled to tender their resignations. Messrs. Wilcox and Green were newly elected at the borough election held in May of last year. -
