ORPHANS' CLUB

The official guests of "tho Auckland Orphans' Club on Saturday night were tho members of tho executives of the Thames and Whangarei Orphans' Clubs. Replies to tho welcome extended wero made by Messrs. J. Donovan (Thames) and P. H. Basley (Whangarei). The Mayor of Auckland, Mr. Ernest Davis, was also welcomed. Tho chairman, Mr. E. W. Uatcy, gave an interesting talk on the Cuiiard White Star liner Queen Mary. Tho president, Mr. C. M. Croft, conveyed good wishes for his future success to Mr. J. Darby, who is leaving Auckland.
