STONE FALLS ON MINER

HEAD INJURIES RECEIVED DESCENDING LADDER IN SHAFT [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WAIHI, Wednesday Head injuries, including a severe scalp wound, were received by Mr. A. Looker, when a piece of stone fell on him while he was descending a ladderway in the underground workings of the Martha mine yesterday afternoon. Mr. Looker was attended to in the mine dressing station and was later admitted to the Waihi Hospital. His injuries are not serious.
