WOMEN'S DIVISION
Kiverhead. —Tho president, Airs. Levy, presided at a recent meeting. The resignation of two members, who were leaving the district, was accepted with regret, and a small presentation was made to each. The monthly competition, a hand-worked handkerchief, was won by Mrs. Simpson. Other competitions were won by Mrs. Blytlie, Mrs. Lynch and Mrs. Pook. Afternoon tea brought a pleasant meeting to a. close. A most successful dance in aid of the; branch funds was also held. Prizes were won by Mr. G. Kennedy and Miss G. Ford. Te A warn u tu. —Mrs. A. Bryant presided at the monthly meeting. Deep sympathy was expressed to Mrs. M. Ashton in her recent bereavement, and members paid a silent tribute as a mark of respect. Mrs. Godfrey gave a report of the Dominion conference. Mrs Meikle's two vocal solos were very much enjoyed. The exchange table business was good. Kihikihi and Owairaka members dispensed afternoon tea. Whnngarei.—Members of the Whangarei branch of the'women's division gave an impromptu afternoon tea for Mrs. Bucke. of Kaitaia, who has been spending a few days in Whangnrei. The president, Mrs. A. C. M. Finlavson, presented her with a bouquet, and later Mrs. Bucke spoke on the housekeepers' section of the division's work. She also answered many questions about the activities of this section. Those present included Mesdames Finlavson, Orr, Davies-Colley, Lord, Litt, Purdon, Porter, J. J. Fraser, Knapp and McKenzie.
