A (rood field started and a great 'race resulted, although a severe head wind slowed the riders up. S. Jones rode well to win from .1. Marshall by the narrow marKin of 2*s. A sealed handicap was held in conjunction with the time trial and resulted: — 10. Robinson, '_'nl, 1; S. Jones, 30s, 2; J. Marshall, 30s, 3. Fastest time: S. Jones, 52m 275.
