THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE RISE IN INSURANCES Australian industrials met with a firmer demand on the Auckland Stock Exchange Yesterday, but the recovery nas checked in closing operations. Now Zealand stocks were quiet, with an improvement in insurances". G. J- Coles made further headway. Business was done up to 7Ss Gd, a rise of 2s Cul, but more were not wanted at that price. Broken Hill Proprietaries opened in dealing 9d higher at 73s 3d the sale price shading to 72s lOd at the final fall. Morts J)ock were moderately dearer, while Electrolytic Zincs preference were placed unchanged. Dominion Breweries were secured 3d lower at 2fo 9d. Kaiapoi Wool added Id at lis 1 Oil, but other New Zealand industrials Mere transferred at late rates. Although banks sold at higher rates there was 110 real improvement in the market. New South Wales moved up Id in business at £32 lGs and New ZeaJands were done 3d higher at 40s Gd. Offers for New Zealand Insurance advanced by 'Jd to 62s Gil, ami business at that price established a rise ol Gd. South British were 3d higher 011 the Jevels. Few supplies of Government loans •were available and 110 trading was recorded.
