OVERSEAS VISITORS
CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AUCKLAND ARRANGEMENTS When the Aorangi arrives at Auckland on Sunday, September 27, it will bring the majority of about 200 delegates and their wives, who are coming to New Zealand to attend the 1-lth congress of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire, to be held in Wellington in the first week in October. This is the first occasion that New Zealand lias been chosen for the congress. Jt is expected that the party to arrive at Auckland will leave for Wellington on the afternoon of September 28 or the morning of September 29. The other overseas delegates will probably reach Wellington by another route. After the congress the whole party will go on nn extended tour of New Zealand. It will arrive in Auckland on the evening of Tuesday. October 27, and will stay here until the morning of Friday, October 30. Both during the first and second visit of members of the delegation to Auckland, the Chamber of Commerce proposes to organise excursions and other functions to entertain tliein. A tentative programme has been drawn up On Monday, September 28, it is proposed to hold a half-day motor run to Mount Eden, Cornwall Park, Waikowhai, Blockhouse Bay, Titirangi and Mount Atkinson, with tea at Titirangi (In Wednesday, October 28, the proposal is for a marine excursion, with a civic At Home in the Town Hall in the evening. The day following will lie occupied by a motor excursion, with possibly a theatre party at night.
