The production for 1 031-35 was 1588 tons and last season 1-101 tons. Tho number of suppliers also decreased from 849 to 829. Notwithstanding the reduced production tho turnover increased by £10,439. The advance payments for butter-fat woro O.fiGhl per lb., and there is now available for distribution £20,121, which represents 1.882 d per lb., making tho net average payment over all grades ll.oKid, and with ,578 d added for carting an average payment of 12.124 d at tho factory. Tho Oruru-Fairburn Co-operative Dairy Company's, Limited, annual report for the year ended May 31, 1936, states that the total output for the year was 429 tons of butter, a decrease of 22 tons as compared with the previous year. The decline was duo to tho abnormally wet season, followed by a plaguo of caterpillars, which gave a severe setback to many suppliers. WHANGAREI DIRECTORS MR. J. McLENNAN TO RETIRE [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Saturday The retiring directors of tho Whangarei Co-opcrativo Dairy Company, Limited, are Messrs. J. McLennan and A. Clarke. Mr. Clarke, being eligible, is again offering his services. Mr. McLennan, after 29 years' service on the board, has decided to retire and is not seeking re-election. The annual report of the company places on record the appreciation of the directors of Mr. McLennan's long service. ALBERTLAND COMPANY OUTPUT AND PAYMENT [from OCR OWN correspondent] WELLS FORD, Saturday There was a record attendance at the annual meeting of the Albertland Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, which was held in the Wellsford Town Hall yesterday. The chairman of directors, Mr. li. M. Neal, presided. The report showed that 873 tons of butter had been made at the company's factory at To Han a during the season and that the net average payment over all grades for the season was 11 4-5 d per lb. butter-fat. As the price on the London market has risen since the balance-sheet was made up there is every prospect of an additional sum being available for distribution. The two retiring directors, Messrs. R*. R. Becroft and J. Ward, were reelected unopposed.

A good deal of discussion took placp on various aspects of the Government's guaranteed price scheme, and a reso lution was carried approving of thf North Auckland dairy companies paying out an uniform advance payment. in order to prevent over-capitali-sation tho directors suggested a plan for tho resumption of shares as they became paid up, or in the case of a shareholder dying or ceasing to supply cream to tho factory. Tho proposals were approved by the shareholders after an amendment was lost.

It was reported the company's cup for the owner of the highest butter-fat cow was won by Messrs. Ward Bros., who had two cows that each produced oSGIb. of butter-fat in 2 ( JD and 319 days respectively.

OPOTJRIAO RESULTS IMPROVEMENT IN PAY-OUT [froji our own correspondent] WHAKATANE, Saturday The Opouriao Dairy Company experienced a very successful season. The output reached the previous season was maintained and suppliers received a considerable advance in price. The directors paid out an average of lOd per lb. butter-fat in advance payments and returns now to hand will make it possible to pay a bonus to suppliers of milk for cheese of .'3\d, making a total of 13£ d over the season, and 2Jd to cream suppliers for buttermaking, bringing their total to 12U1 per lb. It is expected that the bonus will be availablo to suppliers early next month. In spite of the fact that several suppliers transferred to other factories at the beginning of the year, additional supplies received from the Maoris with the Ruatoki land development scheme enabled the company to equal its previous season's output.
