ACCLIMATISATION WORK

DIFFERENCE AT WHANGAREI RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Saturday The want of unanimity in the council of the Whangarei Acclimatisation Society for some time culminated at a meeting last evening, when the president, Mr J. W. Parkin, handed in his resignation, which was accepted. A resolution asking the council to resign in toto was defeated by a narrow margin. A special general meeting of the society will be held on August 7 to consider a requisition that the present council should resign, as in the opinion of those signing the requisition the council as at present constituted cannot function for the benefit of the society.
