NEW CONSUL AT TANGIER MINISTER TO VENEZUELA British Wireless RUGBY, July 19 Mr. E. F. Gye, Consul-General at Tangier, has been appointed Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary at Caracas, Venezuelaj in succession to Mr. E. A. Keeling, who has been appointed Consul-General at Tangier.

Mr. Gye, who. was awarded the C.M.G. in 1925, has been Consul-Generaf at Tangier since 1933. He was born in 1879 and entered the Foreign Office at the age of 24. He became second secretary in 1908 and rose to the position of counsellor in 1921.

Mr. Keeling was born in 1885 and was educated at Eton and Oxford. He became a first secretary in the Diplomatic Service in 1920 and in 1931 he became counsellor to the Embassy in Brazil.
