SAFEBLOWER AT WORK

DOOR RESISTS GELIGNITE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] NAPIER, Monday Two charges of gelignite were used without success on the safe at the Port Ahuriri post office by a thief, who forced an entrance into the building late last night. The safe contained a large number of valuable post office records, as well as a small sum of money. As far as can be ascertained, nothing was removed from the office.

There are two keyholes in the safe and a charge had been inserted in each, but without result.
