COMPLETE MUSIC SET ADVICE FROM AMERICA THE CARNEGIE CORPORATION Valued by the Carnegie Corporation, ■which is giving it, at 2550 dollars (about £(3.')7), a complete music set is to be received by Auckland University College. The set will consist of one electric gramophone, 910 records, 81 record albums, one record cabinet, about L'SO bound scores, about 80 books on music, and one set ol guide cards. Notification of the gift was received by tho council of the college at a meeting yesterday. The letter stated that the corporation did not expect to start shipment until about September 1. The set would be sent without any expense to tho college, it being the corporation's intention to pre-pay freight, insurance, etc. Tho shipment would consist of approximately nine large cases. Other gifts notified were one of 55 volumes from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, one of volumes of New Zealand oflicial papers from Dr. G. H. Scholeficld, librarian of the Assembly Library at Wellington, and a third of £ll6 8s from the British Medical Association for the medical library. The council decided to receive the gifts and to send letters of thanks to the donors.

The problem of finding accommodation for the music set was referred to tho library committee.
